Central High School will be celebrating Veteran’s Day with an all-school assembly. I extend to you and your spouse/friend and invitation to be part of this special celebration.
This assembly is scheduled to take place from 9:50-10:50 AM on Friday, November 11th, 2011. At 9:00 AM, we will host a small reception in our AP Room where homemade cinnamon rolls, fruit, coffee and juice will be provided for our special guests (veterans and their spouses/friends). Here, we can meet, share stories and enjoy one another’s company prior to the assembly.

Next week Mik Derks will screen his new documentary, Wounded Warriors on Thursday Nov 10th at UW Madison’s Union South. The event co-hosted with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and the campus veterans group Vets for Vets – tells the story of Vietnam veterans working with veterans returning from combat. The Veterans of UWSP and Stevens Point’s Midstate Technical College are teaming up for a special “Visions of War” program from November 7th through December 4th.
These Veterans, who are now Students, are trying really hard to promote what they have gone through in a positive image, and the exhibit is not meant as an anti protest action at all.
The new Chancellor at the UW is a Veteran, and is working closely with the UW Veterans Club too, as is the Plover VFW Post. His office is helping to sponsor these events.
Please help support these veterans by attending one or more of the events.
