Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, joined by Department of Administration (DOA) Secretary Scott Neitzel, and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) Secretary John Scocos, announced the Welcome Home Veterans Initiative today. Utilizing $5 million from low-income energy assistance crisis funds, DOA is able to assist homeless veterans with security deposits, first month’s rent, and utility bills.

Through 2015, the unemployment rate for United States military veterans entering the private sector workforce reached a seven-year low. The Department of Defense reported in December that year-to-year employment gains rode an uninterrupted, 23-week streak.
