The article states that the invitation of free admission to the specified events is open not only to active military, but also the any veteran and their family, and that would include retirees. A veteran would be anyone who served in our military, whether as a draftee or enlistee or officer and whether they served stateside or overseas or in combat or whatever, and whether or not they retired from the military or did a single hitch without re-enlisting. All you need to do is show that you are a VETERAN. Most places will accept a membership card in a veterans group, such as the VFW, or if you have a retiree’s card, or even a VA enrollment card. They are not trying to be exclusionary, but simply trying to do something nice for any of us who have served honorably.

My husband and I will be going to the zoo with all our grandchildren and their parents. We both are so happy to be able to go! This is just more than wonderful! It is truly a blessing for us to be able to do this with our entire family. Can’t say enough. We all so much appreciate this. Can’t wait!

  2. Racine Raiders says:
