Get your Veterans Identifier on your Drivers License or ID Card

November 14, 2013 in Special Alerts, Veteran Honors, WI VFW News

You can update your license on or after December 1, 2013 to add the Veteran marker.  Prior to updating your license, please contact your local Wisconsin DVA to verify that you are registered as a veteran who is eligible for the Veteran marker. Before issuing your driver license or ID card with the Veteran marker, DMV is required to verify your status with DVA.

On or after December 1, 2013, please complete the driver license application (MV3001), check the box indicating that you are requesting the Veteran marker, print the application, and visit your local DMV Customer Service Center to complete the process. Starting in late November, the driver license application will include a check box to indicate that you are requesting and eligible for a Veteran marker on your license. DMV is required to issue you a duplicate license to add the Veteran marker. The fee for a duplicate license is $14.00. However, adding the Veteran marker as part of your regular driver license renewal is no additional cost.

Thank you again for contacting us regarding adding a Veteran marker to your driver license. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at (608) 266-2261.
