Hello, and welcome to the Chaplain’s page.  I am honored to serve the State of Wisconsin, Veterans of Foreign Wars as your Chaplain.  It also was my distinct pleasure to serve as the National Chaplain for this great organization from 2006-2007.

Chaplains serve both God and country by bringing their unique gifts with which they are endowed by God, to the soldiers and veterans of our nation in the broad, challenging, diverse, and ever changing environment.

The Chaplain is not just to provide an officer who offers prayers at the meetings.  The Chaplain has a higher purpose.  She is to help other members grow in their relationship with God, the Creator and with one another, to become a true comrade.  The Chaplain helps members develop an environment with which other comrades are encouraged in their personal and collective moral and spiritual growth.

I truly believe that we all have a part of us that wonders why we are here, what life means and what is there for us after this world.  Chaplains like Pastors seek to help to minister to people wherever there is a need.  We realize that for many, Chaplains are the only ministers they will ever know, as they have no affiliation with either church, synagogue, or any other religious institution.   The Chaplain is often called upon to perform duties and other activities or offer prayers at times when it is least expected.  Just like the Boy Scout motto, Chaplains need to always be prepared.

CHAPLAINS – REMEMBER: You represent a Higher Power, the Creator God, to your fellow members and you may be the only one they reach out to for help in their time of need.

Joshua 24:15b – Choose for yourself this day whom you will serve…but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

“Thank You” for your service and for all you do for Veterans and your VFW Department of Wisconsin. Keep up the great work!
